About Us

Expedition Edge is a travel site for people who like their trips well-researched, well-executed, and worth the effort.

We’ve spent years doing the kind of travel that tends to break generic advice. Between the two of us, we’ve been to more than 150 countries. We plan obsessively, we test things in the real world, and we come home with two things: a clear view of what actually works and images that make you want to book a ticket.

A lot of travel content online is built around quick lists and recycled tips. That’s not what we’re here to do.

What we do

We publish field-tested destination guides.
Not “7 things to do,” but the kind of planning notes you’d want if you were taking a trip seriously: routes, timing, tradeoffs, costs, logistics, and the small details that can make or break a day.

We tell stories through photography.
Travel is visual. We’re photographers, and we care a lot about how images are presented. You’ll see galleries built to look great on modern displays, including HDR where it makes sense, without the overprocessed look that gives HDR a bad name.

We’re building audio guides for self-guided travel.
If you’ve ever used a QR-code audio guide at a museum or castle and thought “why isn’t more travel like this?”, same. We’re experimenting with mobile-first audio walks and location-based stories that make places feel richer while you’re actually there.

Our approach

We treat travel like a project:

That means we’re happy to recommend fewer places, skip the obvious, and be direct when something is overrated or when a “must-do” is only worth it under certain conditions.

Who this is for

Expedition Edge is for travelers who:

If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.

Why Expedition Edge?

Because the best trips usually happen at the edge of comfort: a little earlier wake-up, a longer drive, a permit process, a weather window, a ferry that may or may not show up. The edge is where the good stuff lives.

Work with us

We’re open to collaborations that match our standards: tourism boards, brands, editors, and creators who care about accuracy, craft, and doing things properly. If it’s a good fit, we can help with photography, writing, and destination content.

Thanks for stopping by. Expedition Edge is the place we’re building for the kind of travel we actually want to see on the internet: well-made, honest, and useful.
